Rite of the Golden Calf
Idolatry: the final frontier. To many non-pagans, paganism and idolatry are synonymous. Gather in the hall outside Ballroom [B] immediately following the Keynote Speech for the procession and installation of the West's premier idol. You've seen the movie: now come join the fun. The Shrine of the Golden Calf is located in the Art Gallery. He will be accessible for acts of private devotion during Gallery hours. A brief service of public worship will take place at 12 noon both Saturday and Sunday. "We've been waiting to do this ritual for 3000 years. Let's not wait another second." (Steven Posch)

Dark Night of the Soul
The Dark Night of the Soul

What is the Dark Night of the Soul? The words themselves echo through our consciousness. They whisper of loss, disconnection, a sense of meaninglessness, and even despair. Mystics through centuries have spoken of their own journeys through the collapse of certainty and hope. Modern culture abhors discomfort of any sort – and yet within that discomfort lie opportunities for spiritual growth. Is this the heart seed of initiation? How can we, as Pagans, create awareness, support, and ritual for ourselves and our communities in order to facilitate personal and communal evolution? Come, spend 90 brain-tickling minutes in EmrysAnu’s ethics playground.

The Trouble with Elders
Let's look at the history of elders in our community. We'll explore the language we use, the standards we employ and the general concepts we have about elders. We'll also discuss the reasons why it's so difficult to function as an elder in our community for both the elders and the community. It is my hope that by opening this issue in a larger forum we can begin to aspire to an inspired community eldership and do better for subsequent generations.

Graveyard Magic
Honoring Your Ancestors: Graveyard Magic

Do you know how to pay Daddy Death? Directly engaging with spirits of the dead and ancestors is extremely powerful spiritual work. We will be focusing on respectfully choosing ancestor spirits with whom to work. We will also explain how to properly enter and exit a graveyard, how to tend grave sites, how to connect with the spirits of the dead, how to honor those who have been forgotten, and how to collect graveyard dirt in a respectful manner and it's uses. If approached out of respect and reverence, graveyard work will deepen any spiritual practice.

Elemental Magick in the Age of Aquarius: Air, Water and Spirit

Sunrise on the morning of Dec. 22, 2012, marked “The Dawning of the Age of Aquarius.” What lies ahead in this brave new Aeon? While the symbol of Aquarius is Water, Aquarius is an Air sign, signifying communication, networking, and even space travel as we embark upon the great Diaspora of humankind among the stars. And most importantly, the coalescence of consciousness on a global scale: the Awakening of Gaea. And we can expect a new “Creative Explosion” such as the world has not seen since the Ice Age! Let’s explore some of the ramifications and expectations of this transition.

The Four Elements are also Four Minds, four distinct ways of grappling with the perception and the understanding of experiences. Some refer to these ways of knowing as “The Four Powers Of The Sphinx” or “The Four Powers Of The Magus”, and these in turn are the conceptualized in a slightly different way as the witches’ pyramid with the addition of Spirit or Ether. After a short presentation, we will proceed with the Four Minds Ritual Meditation. Come prepared with a question or a topic you’d like to explore in the ritual.

Polyamory, Paganism & Community
Oberon and Morning Glory Zell have had a famously successful open marriage for four decades, and have been in group marriages for half of that time. Called “the First Family of Polyamory,” in 1990, they coined the termspolyamorous (“loving many”) and polyamory to describe such relationships, and thus helped to launch a movement. Relationships always contain an element of personal growth and polyamory has unique benefits and challenges. Learn how multiple loving relationships can be part of your spiritual work. We will also look at some of the history of Pagan community, from Oberon’s role in the foundation of the Church of All worlds in the 1960s, to his experience of community and relationships within both Paganism and Polyamory. Learn from an elder in both the Earth-centered and the Polyamorous social movements with stories and lessons from his half-a-century of experience in these communities.

Mothers & Daughters
Mothers & Daughters & Pagans & Stuff Storytelling from a Pagan Perspective in the Digital Age

Mothers & Daughters & Pagans & Stuff is a Digital Narrative artwork that is in the process of being created. This work is being created from a Pagan perspective and at the core of this work is an exploration of my relationship growing up with my mother, who is now deceased, and who was a Pagan Priestess and raised her children in an out Pagan family during Ronald Reagan’s 1980s. At Paganicon 2014 I hope to present the core story from this project and to gather stories from others who wish to participate by sharing their own stories.
