Many in our community use storytelling in ritual and as performance. Author and Story SlamMN Grand Slam Finalist Michael Merriam will lead a workshop on story construction, stage presentation, and dealing with stage fright, with an emphasize on pieces in the 5 to 10 minute range.

Michael Merriam is an author of speculative fiction from Hopkins, MN. His novel, "Last Car to Annwn Station," was named a "Top Book in 2011" by Readings in Lesbian & Bisexual Women's Fiction. His novella, "Should We Drown in Feathered Sleep," was long-listed for the Nebula Award in 2010. Michael is a member of the Minnesota Speculative Fiction Writers, the Outer Alliance, and the Steampunk Artists and Writers Guild.
